Monterey County is re-designing its website and would like public input on developing a website that will best serve the needs of residents, business and visitors.

  • Many Monterey County government offices will be closed or have limited hours of operation during the Winter Recess, December 26th - 31st. This is in addition to the designated holidays of December 24th, 25th and January 1st. The recess does not affect critical or public safety operations. A schedule for all county offices during the recess is available here.
  • Community volunteers are needed for the 2015-2016 Monterey County Civil Grand Jury. Find out more about the work of this important civic panel and how to apply here.
  • Bring a 'fur-ever' friend home for the holidays! Monterey County Animal Services has launched its 'Home for the Holidays' adoption program that includes special discounted adoption fees. Find out more about this program here.
  • The Monterey County Water Resources Agency has a new website. The updated site features expanded content and easier navigation to key agency water project information. Check out the new site here.
  • Have you had your water service disconnected, or having trouble paying your water bill? The Drought Water Assistance Program may be able to help. Find out more about this program here.

The Mission of Monterey County is to Excel at providing Quality Services for the benefit of all Monterey County residents while developing, maintaining, and enhancing the resources of the region.
