The Salinas Valley Enterprise Zone is a partnership between the Cities of the Salinas Valley (Salinas, Gonzales, Soledad, Greenfield, and King City) and the County of Monterey to promote economic growth in the Salinas Valley.
The Enterprise Zone offers numerous advantages for businesses, ranging from tax credits to improved opportunities for financing and bid preferences for state contracts.
The Enterprise Zone offers numerous incentives to businesses located within its boundaries. These benefits include:
- Hiring Credits
- Sales/Use Tax Credits
- Business Expense Deductions for Depreciable Equipment
- 15-Year Net Operating Loss Carryovers
- Net Interest Deductions for Lenders
- State Contract Bid Preferences
All benefits are applied towards the taxpayer’s California (not Federal) tax return. All benefits except the State Contract Bid preferences may be claimed by filing FTB Form 3805Z with your California Tax Return.
