Area Plan 2012-2016

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

The Monterey County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is holding a series of Public Hearings during the month of February 2012.

The AAA is the local agency responsible for the planning and development of services for seniors under the Federal Older Americans Act. The purpose of the Public Hearings is to receive input from the general public on the Four Year Area Plan.

These Public Hearings will allow members of the community to comment on the goals and objectives listed in the plan and provide input on service priorities.

The Public Hearing for the North County will take place on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11:45 am, Prunedale Senior Center, 8300 Prunedale North Rd., #A, Prunedale, CA.

The Public Hearing for the West County will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:45 am, Sally Griffin Center, 700 Jewell Ave., Pacific Grove, CA.

The Public Hearing for the East County will take place on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:45 am, Firehouse Recreation Center, 1330 E. Alisal St., Salinas, CA.

The Public Hearing for the South County will take place on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 12:15 pm, Los Ositos Senior Center and Apartments, 1083 Elm Ave., Greendfield, CA.

The meetings will be conducted in English and Spanish. RSVP is requested for attendees who require special accommodations. RSVP is requested no later than one week prior to the public hearing by calling Teresa Pureco at (831) 796-1553 or via email at purecotm@co.monterey.ca.us

Area Plan 2009-2012

The Department of Social and Employment Services and the Area Agency on Aging announces the release of the 2009-2012 Official CDA Approved Area Plan. The Area Plan guides the agency's activities and serves as the strategic planning instrument for service delivery. The Area Plan is the result of collaboration between the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council, community based service providers and consumers of senior services.
