Private Applicator Certificate Renewal Instructions

Growers may choose to take the written Private Applicator Certificate exam in lieu of maintaining the necessary Continuing Education Hours.  To prepare for the exam, a book may be purchased at the University of California Cooperative Extension Office at 1432 Abbott St. or at the King City branch office at 522 N. Second Street.  The title of the book is “PESTICIDE SAFETY: A REFERENCE MANUAL FOR PRIVATE APPLICATORS,” publication #3383 is in English, #3394 is in Spanish.  The cost is $7.51 per book (includes tax).

Private Applicator Certificate holders must provide documentation that they have completed the required Continuing Education Hours necessary for renewal.  If proof of the necessary hours is not provided the written exam must be taken.

Private Applicator Certificate holders whose last name begins with A-H must renew their certificates by 12/31/2009, and will be required to have 6 hours of Continuing Education, of which 2 hours must be Laws and Regulations.

Private Applicator Certificate holders whose last name begins with I-Q must renew their certificates by 12/31/2010 and will be required to have 6 hours of Continuing Education, of which 2 hours must be Laws and Regulations.

Private Applicator Certificate holders whose last name begins with R-Z must renew their certificates by 12/31/2008, and will be required to have 6 hours of Continuing Education, of which 2 hours must be Laws and Regulations.

The Agricultural Commissioner’s Office will provide Continuing Education Classes to Private Applicator Certificate holders.  See the attached schedule of continuing education classes.
