Effective January 1, 2009 if a Parent to Child or Grandparent to
Grandchild exclusion form is not completed and submitted to the
Assessor’s office within the 105 day statutory period, a fee of $175
will be charged. The statutory
period begins the date the notification is mailed from our office.
This purpose of this fee is to recover administrative
costs associated with the reassessment process, which includes
notification, reassessment and reversal of assessment in light of the
taxpayer’s failure to timely file a claim. This fee has been approved
by the County Board of Supervisors as required by Senate Bill 1233,
