Resolution No. 09-357 , July 21, 2009 ; to eliminate the sunset date of the committee, increase member term limits and eliminated the limitation on officer's terms.

Membership: 

Consists of 13 members.

Qualifications and Functions:

One member nominated from each of the following organizations:

1.  Grower-Shipper Association of Central California;

            2.  Monterey County Farm Bureau;

            3.  California Strawberry Commission;

            4.  Monterey County Vintners’ and Growers’ Association;

            5.  Monterey County Cattleman’s Association.

Five members appointed by the Board of Supervisors, which include:   

            1. One member from each District whose primary source of income is from an agricultural occupation;

2. Three At-large members nominated by the committee from other segments of the industry such as, but not limited to, nursery/floriculture, labor, organic growers or pest control.

Terms:

 Members shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years to serve at the will of the Board of Supervisors, commencing on July 1^st and ending June 30^th.   Vacancies that occur will be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointments.  No member shall be appointed for more than three (3) full consecutive terms, and shall serve until his or her successor is appointed.

Meeting Date, Time and Place:

Meetings are held the 4th Thursday of the month and/or as determined by the Chairperson of the Committee at 1:30 p.m. 1428 Abbott St, Salinas at the Monterey County Agriculture Center.
