Membership: Consists of 5 members who serve at the pleasure of the Board. Qualifications & Functions: Qualified by experience and training to pass upon the matters pertaining to building construction. The Building Official shall act as Secretary of the Board of Appeals. The Board of Appeals shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors and shall hold office at the pleasure of the Board. The Board of Appeals shall also hear appeals from all decisions of the Building Official, including the denial of a variance from the provisions of Ordinance 2497, and shall hear requests for variances from any provision of said ordinance. Hearings referred to in Section 17014.5 of Title 8, California Administrative Code, shall be conducted by this Board.
