Legislative Reference
:  Created by Resolution No. 94-123 on March 22, 1994; Amended by Resolution No. 02-145, April 9, 2002.

Membership:  The committee consists of 14 members, and 1 alternate, appointed by the Board of Directors of the Redevelopment Agency, which will reflect the socio-economic demographic makeup of the community to include: a) residential owner occupants, b) residential tenants, c) business owners and/or tenants, d) property owners and e) members of existing civic organizations within the Castroville/Pajaro Redevelopment Project Area boundary lines. In addition, the CAC shall have non-voting ex-officio members representing the City of Watsonville, the Pajaro Community Services District, Pajaro Valley Unified School District, North County Recreation District and the North Monterey County Unified School District.

The alternate shall have all rights, privileges, and voting powers as committee members, when serving in an absent voting member’s place.

Terms:  Terms of office shall be staggered, four year terms. The initial appointments shall include seven members with two year terms, expiring on December 31, 1996, and the remaining seven members and alternate shall have four year terms, expiring on December 31, 1998. The ex-officio members shall serve at the pleasure of their appointing bodies.

Qualifications & Functions:  The CAC shall advise the Board of Directors of the Redevelopment Agency in policy matter related to the implementation of the Castroville/Pajaro Redevelopment Plan including but not limited to: Planning and provision of projects identified in the Castroville/Pajaro Redevelopment Plan; and assurance that the citizens of the Castroville/Pajaro Redevelopment Project Area is met by the Board of Directors of the Redevelopment Agency; and apprising local citizen of the CAC’s recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Redevelopment Agency.

 Meeting Date, Time and Place:  Meetings are called on an "as-needed basis".
