07-14-88 Created the Historic Resource Review Board by Ordinance No. 3255 12-31-94 Amended by Ordinance No. 3795 Purpose: To promote the Public Health, Safety, and
General Welfare by providing for the identification, protection, enhancement,
and use of improvements, structures and areas within the County that reflect
special elements of the County’s architectural, artistic, cultural,
historical and heritage aspects. Membership:
Shall consist of seven members who shall be residents of Monterey
County, and shall be selected and appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Two members shall be appointed from
the general public. Five members
shall be appointed from among professionals in various related disciplines
and two members will be appointed who have demonstrated special interest,
competence, knowledge or experience in historic preservation related
disciplines. Terms of Office: Original members will be
appointed for terms as follows: 2 members for one year;
3 members
for two years; and 2 members for three years. Thereafter, appointments shall be made for
three year terms, and terms of office shall expire on December 31st.
Members shall remain in office until their successors are appointed and
