Membership:  The Committee shall consist of twelve, (12) members appointed by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors. Each Supervisor shall appoint at least one (1) individual to  represent their district. Committee Composition shall be strongly rooted in Diversity to include, but not limited to, geographic representation, communities of color, gender, age, sexual orientation, and health status. Professional Representation will include: Medical, Mental Health, Alcohol & Drug, Legal, Law Enforcement, Education, Religious, and Social Services. No member of the Committee or his or her spouse shall be employed full time by the Monterey County Health Department or the State Department of Health Services.  No member shall serve on the governing board or be an employee involved in providing HIV/AIDS services of an agency receiving HIV/AIDS contract money.

 

Terms: Each committee member shall serve until December 31 of the third year of their term.

 

Qualifications and Functions:  To serve as an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors and make recommendations to the Director of Health on policy matters relating to the implementation of the HIV/AIDS Response Plan, and assessing unmet needs.

 

Meeting Date, Place and Time:  Meetings will be held at least twice each calendar year at a regularly established place and time.
