The County of Monterey Equal Opportunity Office provides a variety of services including Investigation of Complaints, Workforce Compliance, Training and Commission Support. It is the goal of this office to enforce the County's Non-Discrimination Ordinances in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and policies related to non-discrimination, anti-harassment and retaliation.

The Equal Opportunity Office evaluates and investigates Equal Opportunity related complaints filed by applicants, employees and recipients of County services. This office also provides an opportunity to resolve issues quickly in a non-adversarial setting when appropriate.

The EO Office provides training for departments, supervisors, and employees on various topics such as harassment prevention, working in a diverse environment, and reasonable accommodation efforts consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The EO Office also coordinates and monitors the sexual harassment prevention training for County Managers, & Supervisors in compliance with California Assembly Bill 1825.

Through the Equal Opportunity Advisory Commission, and the Americans with Disabilities Commission, we provide a forum to explore and address the County's needs and important community concerns. Through the establishment of these commissions, the County Board of Supervisors has expressed its commitment to equality and fairness throughout our community.
