Boronda Citizens Advisory Committee
The Boronda Citizen's Advisory Committee (CAC) was created from a group of residents and business owners who serve as an advisory body to the Redevelopment Agency. The committee members are appointed by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors to ensure that the community's voice is heard in Agency decisions.
Legislative Reference: Created by Resolution No. 89-42 dated January 24, 1989, and adopted by Ordinance No. 3358 of the Boronda Redevelopment Plan; Amended by Resolution No. 02-145, dated April 9, 2002.
Membership: The Advisory Committee consists of 7 members appointed by the Board of Directors of the Redevelopment Agency. Membership should reflect community make-up and should include: residential owner occupants; residential tenants; business owners and/or tenants; property owners; and members of existing civic organization within the Boronda Redevelopment Project Area boundary lines. In addition, the CAC shall have non-voting, ex-officio members which are (a) appointed by the City of Salinas; (b) appointed by the the Salinas City School District.
Terms: The terms of the CAC shall be staggered, four year terms. The ex-officio members shall serve at the pleasure of their appointing bodies.
Qualifications & Function: The committee will serve as an advisory body to the Board of Directors of the Monterey County Redevelopment Agency in policy matters related to the implementation of planning and provision of projects, the assurance that citizen representation is met, and apprising local citizens of the committee’s recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Meeting Dates, Times, and Place: Meetings shall be held on an as-needed basis. Refer to agenda for meeting time and place.
