Are you transferring all or part of your interest to, from or within an entity? We need to hear from you. Please take the time to fill out and return an Affidavit of Entity transfer form and possibly avoid a reassessment of your property.
There are several reasons why an Affidavit of Entity Transfer form is required. Are you transferring real property from individuals to a partnership, limited liability company or corporation? Is a partnership, limited liability company or corporation transferring to individuals? Are there transfers occurring within or between a partnership, limited liability company or corporation?
The assessor’s office needs to verify the percentage transferring to the proportions owned. We need a complete and detailed picture of the ownership percentages before and after the transfer. Please be aware the parent to child exclusion does not apply to entities.
If an Affidavit of Entity Ownership Transfer form is filed along with the deed, there is no charge. If the statement is filed after the deed there is a $50 processing fee. There is an additional processing fee if the tax bill has already been generated. Failure to fill out this form will result in a reassessment of the real property. Please call our office if need any help in completing this form or have questions regarding entity changes in ownership.
