Adult Services provides mental health services, medication support, case management, brokerage and groups for those individuals who have a chronic persistent mental illness and meet the targeted population of those we serve. That includes those people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and atypical psychosis.

Services

Adult Services provides mental health services, medication support, case management, brokerage and groups for those individuals who have a chronic persistent mental illness and meet the targeted population of those we serve. That includes those people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and atypical psychosis.

Creating New Choices or CNC (formerly MCSTAR Program) – Crime reduction through supervised treatment of mentally ill offenders after release from custody.

MCHOME Program – Stabilization of homeless persons with mental illness through assistance with medical, mental, and housing needs and employment or educational opportunities.

SCHEDULE

The Salinas and Monterey branches operate on a Monday to Friday schedule. The hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The clinic in Salinas is open on Wednesday nights by appointment only until 7:00 pm. The King City site is staffed once a week by two clinicians and a doctor on Thursdays. Those hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

A 24-hour crisis team is located at Natividad Medical Center. Assessment for acute care, including in patient psychiatric services, is available at the Emergency Room.

Services at all sites are delivered by staff who are licensed behavioral health professionals. Consumers of the system are also employed by the department and also deliver services.

The staff is both multi-lingual and multi-cultural. Other languages include Spanish, Polish, American Sign, Tagalog, and Portuguese.

FINANCE

The clinic accepts clients who are Medi-Cal eligible.

The program has contract providers whose services encompass housing, employment, education, and dual diagnosis treatment.
