HIV/AIDS Prevention Program

Description: Goal is to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS, a fatal, yet avoidable disease, through education and programs designed to teach people how to avoid becoming infected. Efforts are specifically aimed at high risk populations, including men having sex with other men; injection drug users and their sexual partners; people of color; at-risk youth and women; and those who are already HIV positive.

Programs:

  • Outreach to substances abusers
  • Education and prevention for people being tested at STD clinics
  • Community awareness campaigns and outreach efforts
  • Promotion of existing programs and services
  • Providing HIV testing and follow-up counseling
  • Educational presentations and written materials in English and Spanish
