California Integrated Waste Management Board
(CIWMB): The Board promotes a zero waste California in partnership with local government, industry, and the public. This means managing the estimated 76 million tons of waste generated each year by reducing waste whenever possible, promoting the management of all materials to their highest and best use, and protecting public health and safety and the environment.

(RCP) Database: The California Integrated Waste Management Board’s Buy Recycled programs promote the State of California’s policy to buy recycled-content products and other environmentally preferable products.

Profiles: California Waste Stream Profiles display information about solid waste management issues in California by pulling data together from numerous sources. Profiles are currently available in the following categories: jurisdictions, counties, facilities, materials, legislative districts, and schools. The data shared is displayed in text, tables, charts, maps contacts, and links.
Department of Conservation (DOC), Division of
Recycling: Administers the California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act (Act) to achieve and maintain high recycling rates for each beverage container type included in the program. Effective January 1, 2007, California Refund Value (CRV) paid to consumers when they recycle containers at recycling centers increased to $0.05 for each beverage container less than 24 ounces and $0.10 for each container 24 ounces or greater.
