- L.P.S. Conservatorship Investigation and Administration
Conservatorship services for
Monterey County residents who suffer from a mental disorder and as a
result are unable to provide for their own basic needs of food,
clothing, and shelter and who are unable or unwilling to accept
treatment voluntarily. Conservatorship referral, investigation, and
establishment procedures are detailed in W&I Code Section 5000 et.
seq. Proceedings are held in and supervised by the Superior Court.
- Probate Conservatorship Investigation and Administration
Probate Conservatorships for
Monterey County elder or dependent adults
in financial jeopardy, at risk of losing their real property, income,
savings, or being financially abused by artful and designing persons. Probate conservatorships are detailed
in the California Probate Code. Proceedings
are held in and supervised by the Superior Court.
- Public Representative Payee Services
The Public Guardian manages the
Public Representative Payee Program for Monterey County residents who
income is derived from Public Benefits awarded due to a mental, or physical
disability that makes them unable to manage their financial resources in their own
behalf. These individuals have no assets in need of the protection of a
conservatorship.
