Winter Recess and Fine-Free Month at Monterey County Free Libraries

All branches and programs of Monterey County Free Libraries (MCFL) will be closed for a winter recess beginning Sunday, December 23, 2012. The Seaside Branch and Administrative Offices will reopen on Wednesday, January 2nd 2013. All other branches and the bookmobiles will resume regular services on Thursday, January 3rd 2013.

Due dates for all items will be extended to cover this period as all book-drops will be closed during the winter recess. Please do not leave library books or any other items outside the branches at this time.

Upon reopening, MCFL will celebrate January as Fine-Free Month. MCFL will waive most overdue charges associated with library materials returned during the month of January. This is the time to return all those overdue items so they are back on the shelves for someone else to borrow. Please contact your local branch library if you have questions about fine-free returns or the winter recess.

MCFL branches are located in Aromas, Big Sur, Bradley, Las Palmas/Buena Vista, Carmel Valley, Castroville, Gonzales, Greenfield, King City, Marina, Pajaro, Prunedale, San Ardo, Seaside and Soledad. For additional information please go to www.MontereyCountyFreeLibraries.org or call (831) 883-7573
