The Telecommunications group of the IT Department has established a new  “Information Hotline.”  The hotline phone number is (831) 796-1111.

This line will be administered by the County Public Information Officer (PIO) and is set up to provide up-to-date messages giving details of immediately breaking issues. County staff can phone into the line to access those messages.

For example, last month for the Court holiday on Monday, the Salinas Californian incorrectly announced that the County offices would also be closed. This caused confusion resulting in some employees missing work. Now, if something requiring notification or clarification such as this occurs, a message providing accurate information will be carried on the hotline.
