Just as the foundations of man-made structures provide the strength needed to build upon, a workable security architecture requires a base set of design principles to define its purpose and scope.  Even as you read this issue of Insight, the Information Security Officer’s Advisory Committee (ISOAC) is defining the principles upon which our Security Architecture Design will be based.  Once this foundation has been laid, more detailed guidelines and best practices can be defined and used to promote a comprehensive and cohesive structure for information security architecture within the County.
