When it comes to computers and information security, having staff who are aware of the issues involved is absolutely vital. That’s why the Board of Supervisors has mandated that “all users of Monterey County microcomputers” should receive yearly information security training. We are well on our way to completing this year’s training effort. So far, over 1,000 County employees have successfully completed ITD’s Security Awareness For Everyone (SAFE) computer-based training program.

This hour-long interactive course reminds students of “20 Things Every County Employee Should Know” about information security. Twenty things? No wonder we can all benefit from a refresher course once in awhile!
