Please note, Court holidays are set by Civil Code of Procedure Section 135, Government Code Section 6700, and California Rules of Court, Rule 987, and are not always the same holidays as those observed by County employees. Information regarding Court Holidays is provided for employees who interact with the Courts.

Offices on a seven-day per week work schedule will remain open on holidays.

Holidays and the rules governing their observance are not the same for all employees. For additional information regarding designated holidays in specific bargaining units, please reference the Monterey County Personnel Policies and Practices Resolution No. 98-394 (Section A.24) and the applicable Memorandum of Understanding.
