The Marina Permit Center provides limited service for Building Customers only

The Marina Permit Center is primarily designed to serve the building community. Building Permit and Inspection services are operated from the Marina Permit Center for projects in this area. Limited Planning Division Services are available in Marina.  All services are available at the Salinas Office.

The following building-related services are available in the Marina Office:

1. Application and Issuance of Over the Counter Permits (re-roofs, electrical, plumbing, heating)
    
2. Application and Issuance of Minor Permits-projects that do not require extensive plan review by other agencies including:

• Single –story addition less than 500 square feet

• Deck, patio cover, patio enclosure, trellis (all less than 500 square feet)

• Carport, stable, greenhouse (1 story and less than 500 square feet)

• Detached garages, storage building (less than 500 square feet)

• Interior alteration (amount of estimated contract price required)

•  Roof Pitch change, new roof structure, siding and fences over 6 feet high.

• Plan Revisions

• Second story additions up to 500 sq. ft.

• Swimming Pools and spas

• All truss approvals

3. Design Approval (DA’s) Permits associated with Over the Counter and Minor building permits (above)
    

4. Pre-Application discussions about projects and submitting Appointment Requests for Planning Permits (actual appointment for Application Submittal Requirements will be in Salinas)

5. Pay for and pick up Building Permits ready to be Issued by Appointment Only
    

6. In addition to routine building permit services (over the counter and minor permits), the following services are provided:

   • Drop off Plan Revisions for routing to Salinas.

   • Drop off Technical Reports for routing to Salinas

   • Drop off Completed Forms for routing to Salinas and other Land Use Agencies.
