REVENUE DIVISION

The Monterey County Revenue Division was originally established as the Revenue and Recovery Office by the Board of Supervisors in 1961.  The Revenue Division primarily acts as the collection agent for Monterey County Superior Court’s delinquent criminal and traffic fines and fees. 

The Revenue Division also acts as the collection agent for several county departments including the Probation Department, Resource Management Agency, Public Defender and the Department of Social and Employment Services.

The Revenue Division is recognized as a Comprehensive Collection Agency as outlined in Section 1463.007 of the California State Penal Code. 

In Fiscal Year 2011-12 the Revenue Division collected in excess of $11.8 million and is anticipating collecting in excess of $12.5 million in FY 2012-13.

Amnesty Program

The Monterey County Revenue Division will be participating in the Amnesty program from January 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012.

The Monterey County Revenue Division will not be accepting Amnesty payments.

The Revenue division has contracted with the Municipal Services Bureau (MSB) to collect amnesty payments.
