I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 1:00 P.M.

II. Approval of July 11, 2013 Minutes:
The minutes of July 11, 2013 were unanimously approved (Sirtak/Ortiz).
III. A. CAC Chairman Activity Report:
James Bogan was absent, advocating for veterans’ issues. Jack Stewart reported that $1.5 million is not sufficient for the Cemetery. He encouraged the Committee to continue with all fundraising activites.

V. Update on pertinent Federal legislative activities:
Sonja Arndt, representing Congressman Sam Farr, expressed thanks from the Congressman for the local fundraising efforts that have raised $200,000. She informed the Committee that $1.5 million has been allocated in the State Budget for the Cemetery, and that $613,475 is still needed..
VI. Update on pending State Senate Legislation:
Nicole Charles, representing State Senator Bill Monning, stated that the Senator is pleased with where the process is at this time with the Cemetery application.
VII. Update on State Assembly Legislation:
Erica Parker, representing Assemblymember Mark Stone, reaffirmed that he has been working closely with State Senator Monning to assure that all is in place for the Cemetery project to move forward.
VIII. Update on Endowment Parcel/Seaside Matters:
The EIR is still under ongoing review.
IX. Update from FORA:
Jonathan Garcia stated that the FORA Board meeting is scheduled for August 9, 2013, and he reviewed highlights of the planned agenda.
Janet Parks stated that $200,000 has been sent to the State in good faith to support the Cemetery project. On Sunday, October 27, 2013, country music artist Vince Gill will be performing at
Sunset Center in Carmel, with $1 of every ticket sold going to the Cemetery Foundation.
XI. Update: Fundraising Liaison Subcommittee:
Edith Johnsen reported that the planning and fundraising for the upcoming Heroes Open Golf Tournament is going well. The fundraising committee will meet next on August 22, 2013, at 2:00 P.M., at the Carpenters’ Hall in Marina.
New Business: CAC Revised By-Laws – Action Item
Mr. Wes Morrill reported that this matter is still under review, and will be clarified in the near future.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:45 P.M. The next meeting will be on September 12, 2013.
