Course Description
This training is geared toward all newly hired Monterey County Behavioral Health and Contract Provider staff members whose scope of practice includes developing treatment objectives to support client progress. While masters level clinicians may take the lead in drafting treatment plans, it is important that all staff who serve clients be able to explore and help clients articulate long term aspirations, barriers and strengths to these aspirations as well as shorter term goals and measurable objectives and specific interventions to support these shorter term goals. This training will describe Monterey County Behavioral Health documentation expectations as noted in the Clinical Documentation Guide and in MCBH Policies and Procedures. This training will use lecture and case examples to help participants begin to be able to develop a concise and comprehensive treatment plans that are strengths based and person centered. Further focus will be given to the “Golden Thread” between psychosocial assessment, treatment planning and service delivery, as well as supporting the need to support medical necessity.

  • Target Audience: New County or Contract Provider staff: Social Worker III’s, Psychiatric Social Workers, Psychologists and Medical Mental Health Staff.
  • Note:Focus is on Mental Health, not Substance Use Disorder, treatment.
