In the early morning of Thursday, June 6th someone jumped the back fence of Monterey County Animal Services and stole a Siberian Husky/Collie mix.

The shelter’s video camera shows an individual jumping the back fence Thursday around 2:30 am. The individual is dressed in a dark, striped hoodie or flannel with a lighter colored backpack.  The individual then takes the dog out of his kennel and takes the dog out the exterior gate. There was minor damage done to the property in this process.

“If you recognize the individual or the dog in the photos pleae contact the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department or Monterey County Animal Services at 831-769-8850” said Cindy Burnham, Animal Services Administrator.  “This dog had just come in to the shelter and his owner may be looking for him.”

Monterey County Animal Service Shelter is located at 160 Hitchcock Road in Salinas.  The Shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from Noon to 5 pm.
