Monterey County Free Libraries' Annual Cowboy Poetry Contest Is Now Accepting Applications!

The annual Monterey County Free Libraries' Cowboy Poetry Contest has started! 

The contest is open to all children 18 and under.  Entries must be typed or legibly written.  Poems can be written in English or Spanish.  Write your poem on a separate sheet of paper and submit it with your entry form.

Some suggested topics for poems are living in the west, county living, landscapes of the west, horses, cowboy life, life on a ranch, or living on a farm.

Three winners will be announced from two different age categories.  The winners will get two tickets to the Cowboys, Rhythm & Rhymes event taking place at 4:30pm on 5/9/2020 at the Fox Theatre and a special prize from Monterey County Free Libraries.  The winners will also gets to read their poems at the event and have their poems published on the Monterey County Free Libaries' website.
