Real property document which have been recorded in the Monterey County Recorder’s Office can be viewed in the office’s public access area.

Office hours for viewing public records are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays and posted advance notice closure days/hours.

When requesting copies you must provide us with the following information:

  • Document number or Reel & Page number, as applicable
  • Recording year
  • Name of at least one of the parties named in the document as it appears in the document
  • Type of document

The fees for copies of recorded documents are $2.00 per page of the document and $2.00 per document for certification.

You may obtain copies of all recorded real property documents in the office of the Monterey County Recorder, located at:
