  • Monterey County Animal Services seeks information on injured husky in North County

    On August 3rd, Monterey County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of an injured dog in a culvert in unincorporated Salinas. The dog, a male husky mix about 1 year old, appeared to be attached to a chain. Later it was discoverd a carabiner type clip was actually clipped through the dog's skin.

Cross-Connections

Document Description
Cross-Connections for State-local Small Water Systems Water provided by a state or local small water system may be contaminated via cross-connections within the user’s distribution system. Section 15.04.145 of the Monterey County Code incorporates the requirements of 7584 of Title 17, California Code of Regulations, which requires that the water supplier protect the water supply from contamination by eliminating actual cross-connections and reducing the hazard of potential cross-connections.

Wells

Document Description
Application to Construct
Application to construction: water well, monitoring well, or cathodic protection well. A map containing the following information must accompany this application: Written directions to the proposed site; nearest crossroad; arrow indicating north; property lines; distance from proposed well to property lines; location of other wells on property; location of septic tanks, seepage pits and leach lines on property and within 150 feet of well site. Additionally, an aerial photo of the property indicating the proposed location and photos of well site is requested.

Application to Destroy

Application to Destroy: Water Well, Monitoring Well, or Cathodic well. A map showing the location of the well to be destroyed, the nearest crossroad and an arrow indicating north, along with written directions to the proposed site, must accompany this application. A well log, if available, and a diagram of the well casing showing the perforations and location of water strata and formations must also accompany this application. 
Application to Repair or Alter Application to Repair or Alter: water well, monitoring well, or cathodic protection well. A map containing the following information must accompany this application: Written directions to the proposed site; nearest crossroad; arrow indicating north; property lines; distance from proposed well to property lines; location of other wells on property; location of septic tanks, seepage pits and leach lines on property and within 150 feet of well site. Additionally, an aerial photo of the property indicating the proposed location and photos of well site is requested.
Application to Construct/Destruct: Borehole A map containing the following information must accompany this application: Written directions to the proposed site; nearest crossroad; arrow indicating north; property lines; distance from proposed borehole to property lines; location of wells on property; location of septic tanks, seepage pits and leach lines on property and within 150 feet of borehole site. Additionally, an aerial photo of the property indicating the proposed location and photos of borehole site is requested.
Application to Construct: Cathodic Protection A map containing the following information must accompany this application: Written directions to the proposed site; nearest crossroad; arrow indicating north; property lines; distance from proposed well to property lines; location of other wells on property; location of septic tanks, seepage pits and leach lines on property and within 150 feet of well site. Additionally, an aerial photo of the property indicating the proposed location and photos of well site is requested.
