Current Project Update:  Week of November 11, 2019

The Monterey County Resource Management Agency (RMA) Public Works announces that SB1 Funding has enabled striping work on approximately ½ of all of Monterey County’s striped roads this year. The project consists of applying new centerline striping and traffic control. During construction, commuters will experience delays. 

Project Description:

The Countywide Striping Project 2019 entails the re-striping of approximately 280 +/- miles of centerline striping using SB1 Funding. Phase 1 was completed on September 30, 2019. Phase 2 of the project is estimated to take approximately three (3) months to complete. The construction work hours will be from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Phase 2 will begin in December of 2019 and will focus on the southern portion of Monterey County.  Expect periodic lane closures and delays. Motorist are advised to seek an alternate route during the construction hours.
