The Water Resources Agency manages, protects, stores and conserves water resources in Monterey County for beneficial and environmental use, while minimizing damage from flooding to create a safe and sustainable water supply for present and future generations.
Weather Ready Nation (WRN) is an initiative of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Through this program NOAA and the National Weather Service partner with local organizations such as local government, businesses, schools, and the media to help motivate individuals and communities to prepare for weather related disasters. The Monterey County Water Resources Agency has become a Weather Ready Nation Ambassador in order to help promote the WRN message of preparedness and resilience to extreme weather, water, and climate events.
More information on how to prepare for natural and weather related disasters can be found at the National Weather Service Flood Safety page and the Monterey County Office of Emergency Services Disaster Preparedness page.
