By Order of the Monterey County Health Officer All Public and Private Golf Courses Must Close Due to COVID-19 Pandemic Emergency
The State of California issued its list of essential sectors & related essential workforce pursuant to the Governor’s “Stay at Home” order. Unfortunately, golf courses and employees that staff golf courses are not on the list. I am therefore ordering all public and private golf courses.

On March 21, the first death of a Monterey County resident due to complications from COVID-19 was reported to the Monterey County Health Department. The adult individual was hospitalized and had an underlying health condition that predisposed the individual to having more severe disease.

In light of the Governor’s announcement of a state-wide Stay Home Order, Monterey County Health Officer Dr. Edward Moreno is reissuing his Shelter in Place Order that went into effect on Wednesday, March 18th. The only change being made to the order is to remove the end date of April 7th.

The Monterey County Health Department has confirmed three newly confirmed cases of novel coronavirus disease, also known as COVID-19 among Monterey County residents. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to five.
Some Monterey County offices are closed or have limited services during the Shelter in Place Order time period.

The Monterey County Health Department announced today that two Monterey County residents tested positive for novel coronavirus disease, also known as COVID-19. These are the first laboratory-confirmed cases among residents of Monterey County.
